Beef jerky in your backpack?

Beef jerky in your backpack?

This time of year, the sun shines brighter and the days seem longer.  Our kiddos (and parents, too) are on a mission to spend more time outside at events, team sports and after-school activities.  Beef jerky is a great way to add a little nutrition, as well as a healthy alternative to keeping the protein high and the sugar craving low.  Our meat snacks provide some extra “chew” -unlike a candy bar or chips, and our Smoking Gun brand Jerky has a much lower sodium content than most all other brands out there due to our special recipe marinade used in our small batch recipes.

Throw in a piece of fruit, and they will be satisfied until dinner time.  Check out our nutritional label and see the difference a bag of jerky can make in reaching the total daily requirements your child needs and consumes.

It’s also grilling time, so use our grilling marinade and added spices like Applewood, High Velocity, Black Powder or Brazilian Steakhouse to any meat or vegetable for a quick meal after work or events.  Keep the kitchen cool and the dishes at a minimum by enjoying a little more daylight in the open air.  Grill some extra meat or veggies to add to that salad for lunch the next day.  You’ll enjoy the flavor burst the seasonings bring.

If you're spending more time on the bleachers this spring, grab a bag of our beef jerky to keep the noise down in your belly!  A snack that won’t melt and needs no refrigeration in a resealable bag that can be kept fresh for weeks…if it lasts that long!  Beef jerky won’t spoil your appetite for a healthy dinner and can even be added as a topping instead of bacon bits to baked potatoes and salad.

Eat well - stay healthy!  There are many more memories yet to be made.

May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and the rains fall soft upon your fields.  And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.

May the raindrops fall lightly!
